Between the months of April and May, the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 increased significantly from over 8,089 to 22,541 (+14,452). When expressed as per 100,000 of the population, the rate of covid-19 cases increased from over 160 in April to almost 460 per 100,000 people in May.
