Long-term exposure to air pollution and mental health

The ESRI has published new research “Long-term exposure to air pollution and mental health”.

The research finds that “long-term exposure to air pollution is associated with poorer mental health in older people. One of the most damaging forms of air pollution is fine particulate matter (PM2.5), which in Ireland is caused mainly by the burning of solid fuels (coal, peat and wood) for heating.”
